Business Intelligence

What we do

Economic analyses and industry diagnostics

We develop industry profiles, workforce diagnostics, market research, and competitiveness analyses to provide a structured assessment of the current landscape, identify key issues and opportunities, and inform strategic decision-making. Our analyses draw on literature reviews, poll and survey data, and findings from interviews and focus groups.

Program, policy, and regulatory analysis

Programs, policies, and regulations shape industry-wide shifts and the business environment in which organizations operate. We support our clients in developing these frameworks and assessing their impacts by combining quantitative and qualitative data, document research, and stakeholder consultation. Our analyses identify key findings and back up concrete recommendations to support decision-making.

Cost assessments

Our team is known for its rigour, impartiality, and secure handling of confidential data when conducting cost analyses to inform decision-making. Our cost assessment offering includes production costs, total cost of ownership over a project’s life cycle, climate change-related costs and the benefits of adaptation measures, and costs associated with the introduction of new regulations.

Develop a profile of forest owners

To support the evolution of its service offering, the Fédération des producteurs forestiers du Québec commissioned Agéco to develop an updated profile of forest owners using a survey approach that meets the requirements of statistical representativeness. The analysis provided a better understanding of their motivations and needs, as well as the sociodemographic changes influencing private woodlot management, to help guide future initiatives in the sector.

As part of broader discussions on the competitiveness of Canada’s pork sector, Agéco assessed the relevance of a live hog pricing formula better suited to market realities. The work documented the factors influencing the value of Canadian pork in export markets and informed the sector’s strategic thinking on pricing mechanisms.
