Strategy and Governance

What We Do

Strategic planning

We support organizations in developing strategic plans at the organizational, sectoral, industry, and territory levels. Our approach combines diagnostic assessment, benchmarking, consultation and stakeholder engagement, and co-creation workshops to define priorities and objectives and establish implementation and monitoring mechanisms.

Consultation and stakeholder engagement

We support organizations in initiatives that require collaboration and a shared vision. Our strength lies in our ability to bring stakeholders together around common objectives and create the conditions for constructive dialogue. We can also act as facilitators to bridge the gap between differing perspectives and align stakeholder interests around shared goals.

Framework, policy, and standard development

We develop frameworks, guidelines, standards, and organizational and sector-specific policies to structure and harmonize practices, facilitate decision-making, and rise to market expectations. These tools are tailored to the realities of each organization and specifically designed to address ESG and sustainability considerations.

Risk assessment and management

We help organizations identify, analyze, and prioritize risks across their entire value chain. Our assessments cover climate, geopolitical, and financial risks, as well as risks related to supply chains, human rights, natural resources, and biodiversity. We draw on approaches such as double materiality and dependency/impact analysis.

Scenario analysis and strategic foresight

We help organizations anticipate changes in their business environment by analyzing megatrends, weak signals, and high-impact uncertainties. Developing forward-looking scenarios enables organizations to explore different plausible futures, assess the associated risks and opportunities, and test the robustness of potential strategic directions.

Support climate change adaptation in Quebec

Agéco supported Ouranos in establishing the Groupe d'experts en adaptation aux changements climatiques (GEA). Created at the request of Quebec’s ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs (MELCCFP), the GEA was tasked by the Minister with preparing a recommendations document identifying courses of action for public decision-makers. The process brought together multidisciplinary expertise within a nine-member working group. At the conclusion of its work, the group issued 20 recommendations and more than 90 courses of action that helped inform the 2024–2029 Implementation Plan for the Quebec government’s 2030 Plan for a Green Economy.

Accelerating data sharing in field crops

Agéco supported Concertation Grains Québec in a consultation process bringing together the key stakeholders involved in the collection, sharing, and use of data, particularly agronomic data. By combining a review of existing initiatives, interviews, and workshops, the project helped foster a shared understanding of data governance issues and identify courses of action to support innovation and decision-making in field crops.
