The consulting firm unveils a new brand identity and brings together business leaders around one key question: how can organizations foster boldness?

MONTRÉAL, September 30, 2026 – Agéco marked its 25th anniversary last night at the Maison du développement durable in Montréal, bringing clients together for the “Oser le changement” panel. The discussion explored the decisions organizations must make in an environment shaped by uncertainty and sometimes competing priorities.

For the occasion, Marie-Claude Bellemare, President and CEO of the Conseil patronal de l’environnement du Québec (CPEQ); Serge Cormier, Vice-President, Value Creation, Sustainable Real Estate and Construction at the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ; and Mark Murphy, President of Premier Tech Digital, shared their perspectives on the transformations affecting their respective sectors and the conditions required to make choices with courage and vision.

The discussion notably focused on the challenge of balancing short-term imperatives with long-term needs in a business environment where decisions are shaped by a growing number of factors. The panellists also emphasized the importance of creating spaces for collaboration to align different time horizons, move beyond individual organizational interests and develop collective solutions. Despite the complexity of the transformations ahead, the need to move forward remains.

25 Years of Asking the Questions Before They Become Unavoidable

Agéco’s story began in 2001 in academia. A spin-off from Université Laval, the company was founded by economics professionals and researchers with the ambition of putting analysis, research and knowledge transfer at the service of decision-making.

In 2004, the organization, then known as Groupe AGÉCO, expanded its expertise into sustainable development, well before these issues gained the prominence they hold today in organizational strategies.

In 2015, the integration of Quantis Canada’s activities, which originated from CIRAIG at Polytechnique Montréal, accelerated this evolution and further strengthened the team’s expertise in life cycle assessment, ecodesign, responsible sourcing and environmental communications.

This ability to evolve its expertise alongside the challenges facing organizations has been a defining thread throughout Agéco’s history. From an economic research firm specializing in the agri-food sector, the company has grown into a multidisciplinary consulting firm that today brings together sectoral, systemic and strategic perspectives to address issues that cannot be understood through a single discipline.

“Over the past 25 years, Agéco has remained relevant by adapting to change and evolving alongside our clients. Our story is that of a team that has continually sought to understand emerging issues, develop the expertise needed to address them and, above all, make that knowledge useful to our clients’ decision-making.”

A Renewed Identity to Reflect the Agéco of Today

Agéco’s 25th anniversary also marks the unveiling of a new brand identity. This evolution is intended to better reflect what the consulting firm has become.

It is grounded in a conviction: understanding the transformations affecting organizations is essential, but that understanding must also translate into decisions and action. This is captured in Agéco’s new promise: “From complexity to capability.”

“This new identity marks a natural evolution for our team. It builds on 25 years of experience while expressing more clearly who Agéco is today and our ambition for what comes next.”
